Why I'm offering consultations

One question keeps coming back: why am I turning toward one-on-one consultations?

The honest answer starts with cheerleading. I know, it's cliché. But it's my story.

I watched Bring It On in high school and something clicked. That's pretty much my whole personality: I see something, it lights up inside me, and I need to try it. A friend was doing cheer at her school, I noticed there was a team at mine, and the year after, I signed up. That same year I learned about a new team, not tied to any school, just for competition, and I jumped on it. After that, life had a rhythm: school, then training. I kept going with that team, and eventually a chance came to coach younger athletes. I took it. I started as an assistant, then got a team of my own. At some point I was even helping coaches get the right information and training so they could teach more athletes.

Then I stepped away, from cheerleading and coaching both. When I moved to Montréal, someone asked me to coach again, and I stayed for a long time. While I was building my business, it became the one place where my brain went quiet. I'd walk in, and all I had to do was share something I love.

Eventually it stopped fitting. Between the craft fairs and the practices I kept missing, I couldn't do both, so I chose the fairs.

Since last year, I've done a lot of looking inward: who I am, what makes me vibe, what actually lights me up. I started reading my birth chart, and what stood out was how much it talks about communication, about teaching, about taking something complex and making it easy to understand. And I thought: that's cheerleading. That's the coaching. That's the part of me that never left.

I do have an impact through clothing. I believe that. But the feeling is different. An email or a message is lovely, but it isn't the same as sitting with someone and watching them get it. I did more group settings in cheer, but there was always that one-on-one moment where you share something and the person simply understands. It's a really amazing moment.

The craft fairs taught me the other half. People would ask what I thought about a piece, and I'd wish I had all the time in the world, but there were people everywhere and it all went too fast. I could never go into depth. (And let's be honest, you probably already know this about me: I couldn't do one or two craft fairs, I had to do them all. I can be quite excessive when something excites me.)

So I wanted to build something from what I know is true: my strengths, the things I could happily be obsessed with, and the time to actually sit with someone. A consultation is that. A real conversation, in depth, about you and your wardrobe.

It's also something I need right now. It fills my cup, so I can pour into other people.
