On Wednesday, August 20, 2026 at 8:00 PM, MAS Montréal will present MEND on the main stage for the opening night of Festival M.A.D. at Place des Festivals. This marks our first public runway show and a major milestone in our 10th year of creating independently.

"If you had told 2016-Mckenna that she would one day be presenting a collection at Place des Festivals for the M.A.D. Festival, I wouldn’t have believed you. Honestly, for the first five years of my business, I constantly doubted my capacity and wondered if I truly belonged. Even two years ago, I wasn't sure if I had a place on a stage like this. But after ten years, it feels right to step out, put myself out there, and showcase what we’ve built. We belong here."
5 Questions with Mckenna on MEND
1. After 10 years of creating independently, why was now the right time for a public runway?
Mckenna: "It feels like I started forever ago, but at the same time, like it just happened. Because this year marks our 10th anniversary, I made a promise to myself to put MAS Montréal out there as much as possible. The team at M.A.D. had wanted us to participate for a little while, and I was finally ready to make it work this time around and take my place."
2. What was the creative inspiration behind this collection?
Mckenna: "Usually, my inspiration comes from people and movement. But with MEND, I didn't try to follow trends or adhere to a rigid structure. Instead, I let my intuition lead the way—guiding the fits, the silhouettes, and the colors. It was about re-creating from the inside out."
3. How do textures and fabrics shape MEND?
Mckenna: "I naturally gravitate toward a minimalistic aesthetic, favoring solid, grounded tones over loud prints. For this capsule, it’s all about tactile warmth and texture. We built a big denim section, which was really important to me, and paired it with ribbed velvet and the fluid drape of Lyocell that I always love working with."
4. What does the title MEND mean to you at this 10-year mark?
Mckenna: "MEND is about coming back to center. After a decade of navigating the ups and downs of running an independent brand, this collection feels like a process of stitching everything together—honoring where we’ve been while giving ourselves room to breathe and heal."
5. What do you hope people feel when they watch the show on August 20th?
Mckenna: "I hope people feel grounded. Creating this collection felt like anchored quietness, and I want the audience to experience that same feeling. In the middle of all the festival energy, I hope it’s a moment to slow down, be present, and just connect."
