Full disclosure before I even start this one: I’m biased. I wear my own designs almost exclusively, so of course the things I reach for are MAS. But I think that’s actually the point — when you make something specifically because you couldn’t find it anywhere else, you end up wearing it into the ground. So here’s my honest list, bias and all.
For bottoms, it’s almost always my Siena pants or my Savannah skirt. And the Vienna pants — I have them in Carbon, and in an older Salt colorway I’m still wearing into the ground. I reach for them over and over without even thinking about it.
For tops, there’s a piece I made back in 2018 or 2019 that I recently pulled back out of rotation. It’s a little wild how well it’s held up, both in condition and in how it still feels like exactly the right piece — every time I wear it, someone says something. I also go for my Kyoto shirt constantly, in Pepper, and my Lima tank top, same color. And when I want a dress, which is often, it’s the Casablanca, also in Pepper — noticing a pattern here.
For layering, it’s the Verona vest, in Jeans, almost every time.
The thread running through all of it: natural fiber, room to move, and a feeling against my skin that doesn’t ask anything of me. I’ve noticed I’ve gotten more sensitive to this lately — if a fabric isn’t genuinely soft and well-made, I feel it within an hour, and not in a good way. That’s not something I used to pay attention to. Now I can’t ignore it.
Here’s the part that’s a little embarrassing to admit, given what I do for a living: my closet itself is a mess right now. Not what’s in it — what’s in it, I love. But the space itself hasn’t been edited or organized in a long time, and it shows. Getting dressed shouldn’t feel harder than it needs to be, and lately, some mornings, it does.
So that’s my honest inventory — what I actually reach for, and what it’s telling me about the pieces still worth building around. If you want to do the same thing with your own closet, I built a free five-day practice to walk through it, and I’m doing it myself right alongside anyone who wants to join.
